In his first Madison Tecmo game, James avenges boyhood friend Peter’s Tecmo I final defeat by defeating defending champ Josh. He next loses to another Neenah friend new to the Madison Tecmo scene: Rick. Sobhi uses Barry Sanders at WR to stage a miracle 20-point comeback win against Chet. “Best in World” wins his next three games, including a win over Tecmo I runner-up Peter, to advance to the championship. In the loser’s bracket, Peter knocks Josh out of the tourney in a Tecmo I final rematch, then falls to then-unknown Jay H, a power for years to come. James wins 7 games in the loser’s bracket to advance to the championship. Using an attacking defense led by John Offerdahl, he skunks Sobhi with his favorite team (Dolphins) in the first game, but his Vikings fall short to Sobhi’s Bears in the final game after a late Carrier INT. Sobhi gives the trophy to T-Reebs (pictured below), who sold him his spot in the tourney.
